Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) is paid on all property purchases in England and Northern Ireland above the threshold. First-time buyers benefit from a higher threshold and reduced rates. This calculator applies the current SDLT bands to give you an accurate figure for your purchase. Note: Scotland uses Land and Buildings Transaction Tax (LBTT) and Wales uses Land Transaction Tax (LTT), which have different rates.
