A County Court Judgement (CCJ) severely damages your credit score, and many people are unaware they have one until they are rejected for credit.
Check Your Credit Report
A CCJ will appear on your statutory credit report from Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion. You can check all three for free.
Check the Official Register
You can search the official Register of Judgments, Orders and Fines (Trust Online). There is a small fee of £5 per search, but it provides the definitive legal record.
Why You Might Not Know
CCJs are often issued to old addresses if you moved without updating your creditors. The court assumes the paperwork was delivered, and issues a default judgement when you do not respond.
